Summit Leadership Initiative is a proud national partner of Done Waiting.org
It
doesn't take superheroes to improve our public school system; it takes Americans
standing up, making our voices heard and demanding chan
ge. The Done Waiting Coalition is
working to engage hundreds of thousands of Americans to stand-up at the local,
state and national level and show their elected leaders how important it is to
improve the public school system.
We believe we must:
- Expand proven school models, such as high-performing public charter schools,
- Demand a highly effective teacher in every classroom, and treat them like a valued professional, not a widget,
- Put kids before the politics of special interests.
If we do not act now, more students will be condemned to failing schools and won't have the same opportunities to attend college or build successful careers. It's morally and economically imperative that we do not let that happen.
The
challenges outlined in Waiting for "Superman" will exist long after the film is
gone from theaters - we're here to make sure the urgency to improve the public
school system remains.
